co-operation with other soundcards in sonar
I've posted a similar problem before and I'd just like to add my recent experiences with 3530.
Three soundcards... Yamaha xg1000 Creamware Luna Audigy kx 3530 (setup correctly, all on independant IRQs etc.) Sonar 1.3.1 The luna and the xg1000 co-operate together perfectly in audio, staying in sync with low latency provided I play no audio back through the audigy. Two main problems are: 1. Cannot play back kx audio with any other soundcard without major stuttering and stumbling from the other cards, regardless of sonar audio settings. 2. I have to add a 'time offset' equal to the selected latency to get it in time with the midi, which throws audio from the other soundcards out. Thus, I cannot have audio streams going to all three cards. I have to choose - kx for midi only or luna/xg1000 midi only. I have tried taking out one card at a time and the kx refuses to co-operate in audio with either card. This is not a major problem for me as I use the kx mainly for soundfont sampling with which it seems to work with no problems. I do not have any other music software to test, and I was just wondering if I am mad to try to get synchronised audio out of three soundcards in one computer? Cheers, jimsey |
