Are you saying that it starts out good while recording, but eventually the quality gets bad (during the same recording session), or are you saying that it is always bad (with kX)?
I can't think of any reason why this would happen with kX (unless your are using a custom DSP, and are filtering the MIC signal in some bad way). What DSP config are you using? Have you checked the MIC connection to the sound card to verify it did not come loose, etc. (while you are at it, check the MIC wires for any problems (a pet once chewed through my MIC wires)). I know that you said it was fine with the CL driver, but again, it should not be any different with kX, so I am thinking that it has to be something else. As for the MIC being quieter, did you try enabling the MIC Boost option, and/or increasing the Analog Recording Gain (both settings are on the AC97 page of kxmixer)? What do you have the Recording levels set to (Recording page of kxmixer)? Last edited by Russ; Jan 23, 2007 at 06:40 AM. |
