A Bug? and a Question
I am using a p3 500mhz w XP pro, and a SB Live Value
First one is that when using the latest beta version posted on your website (3531), I was unable to mute the dry signal for line in, in the AC97 window of the kx mixer. In previous versions of the driver, I could mute that and monitor only the wet asio signal, but now I hear the signals mixed. I think this one's just a bug. If I missed something and this was part of the new arrangement, please fill me in. For this question I am using release 3528 I would like to know where to place effect plugins in the kx dsp arrangement to work as 'insert' fx for wave input, rather than asio input. I know that all you have to do is put your fx between the prolog AC97 L/R and the epilog asio 0/1, if you want inserts for your asio input. I also know that you can unload the reverb or chorus plugins and replace them with whatever you need. But that still acts as a 'send' effect, unless there's a way to set it up without hearing any dry signal. I'd really appreciate a tip on this one. And thanx a lot for letting the public have these drivers. They made recording a hundred times more realtime for us 'po foke with older sound cards. |

A Solution? and more question
I thought it might be useful for other people who might've had similar problems to know that I found a solution to one of my previous questions.
If you are unable to mute the original (dry) signal from within the kx mixer using version 3531, try disconnecting the two top connections between the prolog and the in0/1 on xrouting. I tried this on previous versions, as recommended by a web page I saw somewhere, but it seemed to have no effect. But for the later version it seems just the thing. This seemed to work perfectly for me using cubase sx. But in order to monitor in programs like cool edit, I had to reconnect those two again. Also, fx in the kxdsp using the fx loops provided (summ_r/c) only seem to apply to asio input. Effects seem to be placeable on monitoring wave input, but I can't seem to find where to put them so they show up on the recordings. No big deal though. Thanks again. |
