Ignore the message. Just go ahead and it'll work if you had previously chosen LINE IN (or whatever your audio source is connected to) in the drop down menu at AC97 page in KX Mixer and have turned up AC97 volume in REC page and INS AND OUT page.

Daniel Drummond: avid wont even rcognise that there is a soundcard present .... there is no way to choose the sound card that i want it to use when avid wont even recognise it... i think the problem has to do with direct sound implimentation of the drivers... as far as i can understand the curent KX drivers only emulate direct sound 2d

kX driver fully supports direct sound -2D-
it emulates direct sound -3D- /Eugene |

I have the same problem with avid dvxpress 3.5, and audigy sound card. (creative's drivers worked fine.) I read somewhere that avid requires equal numbers inputs and outputs, not really sure what it means though.. this app is generally picky about soundcards, and many professional ones won' work.
I really hope this can be figured out, as I think kX is great, especially the routing and DSP functions. but I am really dependent on also using avid. Keep up the good work! Håvard |

I suggest you still try contacting AVID programmers, simply because most of other audio applications recognize kX Drivers correctly. I don't have the AVID software installed, so I cannot test its functionality.

Not very much help there really.. being the market leader by far within professional video editing, Avid dont care too much about supporting all kinds of system setups. Users generally tend to buy the kind of hardware that avid supports.
Guess I'll be switching drivers back and forth for now.. |
