latency problem with Sonar

I think I saw someone else with this problem here but I can't find the thread now.
With kx 3528 driver I had a problem with Sonar 2.0 where it would gradually develop a latency delay the longer I ran Sonar, getting annoying after only 5 mins or so (I would fix it by going into device setup and re-clicking on my midi imput). I thought it would be fixed by new drivers so I installed kx 3531. This made the problem much worse as the delay was constant with VST instruments (directixer vst wrapped) and also some DXI (e.g. Edirol Super Quartet) and could not be fixed in the way I did before (I now had to reboot). Also sometimes the sound just goes off completely with a high pitched wine which can only be fixed by restarting the computer. Someone suggested changing to kx imputs 4/5 instead of 1/2 which I haven't tried yet but will.

I have an AMD xp2400+, 768 pc2700 RAM, EMU-APS card.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Also I heard I can use ASIO drivers with Sonar. Is this correct? If so, how do I do it?

P.S. I think it is wonderful what the kx people have done. I converted to Windows XP and when I found my APS drivers would not work (and the sods at creative were not going to write any) I though I would have to switch cards. I love the APS and so was extremely grateful when I found out about the kx project. Than you very much all at KX.
