There is not enough info about your system to get any help.
What soundcard model, what operating system, which driver version, etc. |

athlon 2ghz , nforce 2 chipset
win xp sp2 sb live! 5.1 kx tested - 3537,3539 when windows loads i see kxmixer splashscreen and after it disappear no kxmixer or voulme control icons emerge in systray (kxmixer starts from startmenu icon) i dont know if it can have something in common but quite often i've got "constant beeping noise instead of audio playback" problem. |

There is a setting in XP to hide some icons in the systray. Right click and make sure it's turned off. As far as the beeping noise, I have no clue. I also use a Live 5.1 and never had that problem with either Win 98, 2000 or XP. I've used kX since before 3537 without a problem. I believe there is a long thread on that subject right below. It may help you.
Good luck |

The missing system volume icon is a known issue with 3539 (it is related to an issue with kX and the Windows Mixer), but it should not be a problem with other versions of kX (although it may not be enabled by default). If this is a major problem for you (see the 3539 Bug Reports thread for more info and workarounds), then just use 3538m instead. In any case, with the kxmixer issue you are having (is the icon just disappearing, or is kxmixer quiting/crashing too?), an OS reinstall may be a good idea (it is good to do every once in a while, but you might try just reapplying SP2 before resorting to a full reinstall (for that matter, I would probably do a little more troubleshooting first as well... i.e. use MSCONFIG to do a selective startup and disable any AV software, etc to see if another application is causing the problem, etc)).
