KxTechNoob is on a distinguished road

Problem with KxMixer v 3537

Ok, as we all know kx is a great driver for the Creative SB022x 10k1 [e800] Sound card

My problem is , whenever i load KxMixer I lose sound altogether.

So, when installing, i have deleted kxmixer from my C:/ in the system32 folder, so it won't come up at start up.

I am running kxMixer on Windows Xp Pro SP2

with 512 mb ram .

Is there any solutions for this?

Also, on my sounds and speech settings , Both my default playback and recording device are the same thing. which i don't understand, also , when i click on the scroll down, there is no other option.

For this reason my microphone does not work at all. When hooked up to VoIP I only hear what my speakers are playing ( music ), instead of what im saying.

Thanks in advance to anyone that could help solve this problem.

I am guessing that you do not have a 5.1 setup (or it is a 3537/SB022x issue). kX swaps the front and rear speakers by default (and the default speaker mode is 2.1), so if you have no rear speakers, you will have no sound. Uncheck the Swap Front and Rear option on the Main page of kxmixer, and use the speaker setup applet to setup your speakers.

Ok... you will need to put that back, or reinstall... In the future you should probably just use MSConfig or another startup manager to stop kxmixer from starting with Windows.

This is normal, the default should be kX Wave 0/1 for both (but you should have more options for audio playback).

You need to setup kxmixer correctly to in order to record from the MIC. See the following:
MD6 - KX Mic Setup(default DSP config)

BTW: 3537 is an older version of the driver, and it did not fully support all of the SB022x models, so I would suggest using a newer version of the driver. 3539 is currently the latest version.
