Hi!

reporting...

1820/1212 v1 (both based on the em8810 1010 card)

No analog sound output, and can't initialize the audiodock, v3542 works fine.

dsp peak meter shows activity though.

What additional information should I provide?

thanks

JGSF:
try 'edspctrl -defaults' from the command line
it will reset your card details and upload the firmware
if this does not work, capture edspctrl output and send it by e-mail

edspctrl -defaults did it.

Thank you... and sorry, I didn't know about this.

24/48 does work now. (did not in 3538M - I never tested 3539/3540/3541/3542)

and 24/96 WDM still doesn't seem to do any SRC - and All I have is 48khz SPDIF sources.

But, I was under the impression the Master Volume sliders were removed - that must just be in Vista...

Heres my about info...

----Hardware / Software configuration---------------
Driver Name:kX Audio Driver (Debug)

Card has MPU device
Card model is '5.1'
Card is Audigy2-compatible
Card HAS AC97 codec
Codec name: Unk AC97-codec [83847650]
3D Extension: SigmaTel 3D Enhancement
Codec is 2.0 compliant
Capabilities[6a90] : -headphone out-
DAC resolutions : -16-bit- -20-bit-
ADC resolutions : -16-bit- -20-bit-
Ext Capabilities [605]: -var rate PCM audio- -slot/DAC mappings-
Port: b800 Irq: 0x7(7)

Tank memory: 256 kb
GSIF buffer: 256 samples
OS version: [2 5 1 Service Pack 2; 2 5 1 Service Pack 2; 156 148]
Guess my needing windex was 'pre-mature' (edit: mostly because I read '24/96' when it is '24/48' - doh!) - but its definitely a step in the right direction - and could prove useable /edit)

Any case - I meant no offense in my only thanking E. - Thanks to *every one* who contributes in any way to kX project.

I'll have to load some older 16/48 projects to see how ASIO performance stacks up against V3538M. Will report back with anything significant.

Thanks again everyone.

edit: there seems to be a very slight clicking that wasn't present in 3538M - CPU useage seems a little more too as well - in Default, and all 10K2 timing modes. Increasing Latency had no effect on the clicking sound. /edit

Thank you for such a nice software.

My PC has three audigy2(one sb0240 with drive and two sb0244) cards and one E-MU 0404 card.
audigy2 cards work,but E-MU 0404 card doesn't output anything.
'edspctrl -defaults' said that

Card: 'SB0240 10k2 [8000]

Does 'edspctrl' initialize only one card or drive?

If my mistake or stupidity caused it,I'm sorry.

I am having clicks in the default asio mode too, but map/irq/event mode solves it here.

Eugene said in another thread that 24-bit transfers are not fully hardware-accelerated, so maybe that explains the extra cpu usage.

It happens in 16/48 playback. I'll try that mode - thanks.

I don't know if edspctrl also recognizes the "$" parameter but you could try:

edspctrl -defaults $<number>

where <number> will be 0,1,2 or 3, depending of the card order

Thank you.
I tried immediately.

But they output the same message as 'edspctrl -defaults'.

With kX Console the "$" parameter needs to be the first parameter. In any case, edspctrl does not currently support that parameter.

@dejovu
You can try this version if you want, which includes the (optional) "$" parameter (should be the first parameter). It is untested as I do not have an EMU card (nor multiple cards for that matter), but I do not think you should have any problems with it.

i.e. (usage)
edspctrl2 $<number> -defaults

Oops, didn't know.

Sorry then, I hadn't used the $ parameter since kx drivers incorporated the 2nd ac97 codec routing options in the main panel, and to be honest, never realized about the parameter order before.

It's just perfect. My E-MU 0404 have begun to sing.

Thank you very much, and I'm sorry for my poor poor English.

It's my successful message.

Hey guys... could you see if this happens to you to?

- have an asio app running
- save the default dsp settings
- load the dsp settings from the file you saved

no sound

I tested with my live card and had no problems...

fxbus32 seems to cause it (audigy2's have fxbusX instead in the dsp).

If I save a setup that doesn't use it, I still have audio output when I load it again.

Sound doesn't work.. using 10k2 (audigy2zs), vista sp1.
I get weird static, noises and things.
Sort of like I use to before the 4GB ram issue was fixed..

Doesn't matter which output device I try.. master, 4/5, HQ, windows can't create test sound.

Reply: 3543 bug reports (24 bit asio, E-DSP)

Hi guys!

Sorry for my poor English please. )

Sometime i had that problem wich will be fixed here.

I have two cards in machine, E-DSP 1820 and SB0090.

As you posted here, the E-DSP take no sound... It`s my problem too. I use edspctrl -defaults command with only E-DSP installed on system, it will be OK, card work fine. But, when i installed 2nd device SB0090, the edspctrl will not recognize E-DSP, i see that you fix it with edspctrl2 -defaults $<nuber> ... i wanna try it there

please send me edspctrl2 via email, because the link taken Russ, dont work now. (Site search get no results.)

Re: 3543 bug reports (24 bit asio, E-DSP)

@Underheaven,

Are you using kX version 3543? If so, I suggest upgrading to a more recent version of kX (e.g. 3545b or 3550).

In more recent versions of kX, edspctrl includes that command line option.
