the Loudness Compensator Plugin (kxfxloudness.kxl) is confirmed to have a problem in kX 3545b.
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/effects-...t-request.html I have no clue why its broken, but makes kX Mixer crash when starting the mixer with this plugin loaded. |

Great music playback... when it's not crackling.
I seem the be having the same problem as King_Tweaker. Only tried 3545b, WAVE HQ won't work, and I get crackling with Master Mixer.
Using a creative Audigy 2 ZS card on Vista Sp1 32bit. |

I've testd 3545b on CT4830/SB0090/SB0530, ASIO function failed after install UFX on CT4830 while SB0090/0530 still works. Anyone got the same problem?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= !#$@#$% 4830 ASIO back to life somehow...... I'll keep on trying... Last edited by jasonh77tw; Aug 29, 2008 at 11:33 AM. |

KX for Asio Audio..Cool!

24bit multi-track asio bug report - observations
Bug Report for KX Drivers 3545b, specific to 24bit 8+8 settings/10.67ms
1. SRC 00/01 - Using SRC on 00/01 blasts noise on 00 channel only when activating "input monitoring" in cubase, or using 00/01 as wave input, no solution yet.(no noise using 16bit) (EDIT-) today I was able to use 00/01 without the blast noise while direct monitoring, Ill have to test it more to find out where it was coming from (perhaps a feedback loop?) (Quote from earlier 3545 bug report from Madddog ![]() "What is the out channel set to on the 'monitored' tracks? I presume *not* ASIO 0/1 (I get a buzz from a feedback loop in Sonar if I SW monitor like that)" 2. Glitching on Record/Playback at 24bit/48k 8+8/10ms setting - crackles occasionally, but when set to 16bit/10ms crackles disappear. Crackles only affect playback, they did not appear in the actual wav file. 3. 24bit ASIO ISSUE - Cannot load more than 1 stereo input pair in Reaper, error causes app crash: KX ASIO Window "Error creating input buffer#4: error = -10 (size=8192) Driver fails, re-sets itself to 16bit (16+16) and has to be re-initialized for 24bit to become active again On double-click of DSP setups with MULTIPLE CARDS, "sometimes" only one side loads, changing tab at bottom of dsp and loading again the same dsp setup, allows second side to load On driver failure, driver always resets for 8ms - default? Noise at 24bit ASIO with Audigy2 ZS could be a routing bug
I discribed in earlier posts, that there is only noise when using ASIO at 24bit mode even with default dsp and routing values. I now noticed that it's OK when you reassign fxbus in ASIO - KX Out 0-15 to fx bus 1, 2...15. (Is it still true 24bit?) But once assigned you cant reassign it to 240... Theres only FX-Bus 1-15 selectable. Further if you assign FXBus 1 to KX Out 0 there is now also FXBus0 available (it really wasn't there before).
What's the reason of this strange behavior?

The kX Router assignments for Wave/ASIO are basically virtual assignments, so reassigning them should not effect 24 bit functionality.

After having problems with WaveHQ and Master Mixer in 3545b I installed driver version 3541, WaveHQ works in that version but Master Mixer has the same issue with bad crackling.
Another Issue I noticed on 3545b was that Master Mixer stopped working for no apparent reason after a while. I was using SPDIF/AC3 Output for a few days and when I tried going back to Master Mixer to test 3D sound I realized it wasn't outputting sound anymore. I checked my DSP to see if there might have been something I overlooked, but I couldn't find anything wrong, all other outputs except that one and WaveHQ where working fine. Again, using Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit. |

directx bug
G'day
Just upgraded to 3545b, still having issues with directx 9c hardware buffer audio. DirectSound test results: Failure at step 20 (User verification of hardware): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code) for all channels. wondering if this is an ongoing issue or i've got something conflicting on my machine. ta! |

[COLOR=black][COLOR=white]After restart gigastudio in standalone GSIF I have no sound, or if I start Sonar with ASIO after GS, no sound in Sonar (same for kx3538l - kx3545) but early kx3538k works well.

Another bug report
SB0400, 3545b
Sound disappears after a while. Few minutes (or sometimes even seconds) of any video/audio playback--and the card's silent Sometimes it's prominent beeping sound, not silence. Noticed after updrade to a version where digital/analogue output weren't swapped for my card, in case you remember that issue.ASIO works fine. I had to roll back to 3538 for it plays flawlessly. I'd also appreciate if you recommend best card (performance, number of registers, etc.) supporting kx drivers. Last edited by Irsanta; Oct 11, 2008 at 11:47 PM. |

Re: 3545 bug reports
Ok, here's a minor one:
If you have an audigy2 card and an e-dsp card in the same machine, the audigy2 card will show the e-dsp control panel in kx's menu. |

Re: 3545 bug reports
WinXP32 + 3545b @ E-Mu 1212M (rev.1): it really works and sounds cleaner than original driver!
1) 5.1 is the default setting after installation of the driver, therefore users with stereo only cards can be surprised by absence of sound (suggesting to note it in the Readme). 2) Seems be specific bug for E-MU 1212M (rev.1): The sound is missing right after the installation (even after the reboot) until reloading of the firmware through E-DSP control panel. 3) Can be specific bug for E-MU 1212M (rev.1): Impossible to switch from 48Khz sampling in E-DSP control panel though choices are shown. 4) DAC4 instead of DAC1 is the default setting right after the installation and rebooting. |

Re: 3545 bug reports
Hum, if it matters, I think I found a way of correctly initializing my audiodock everytime.
- made a .bat file with "edspctrl -defaults" in it an put a shortcut to it in the startup folder. - connect the dock only after the windows has started completely. edit: (this is subject to confirmation, but it has been working so far) more conclusions: edit2: Yep, it seems to be it. Someone else test this, please.edit3: It works if it's the first thing you do after booting. This time I went to the e-dsp control panel first, then plugged the dock, and it wasn't initialized. edit4: It seems to work if I leave the dock plugged in, as long as edspctr -defaults is run first. Re: 3545 bug reports
OK, I've a strange problem (maybe something I messed up) but when I put 16 Bit output in mplayerc (Media Player Classic), My surrounder gets disabled and when I check off 16Bit, check ON 24Bit, everything becomes normal
![]() When I checked 16Bit, I tried messing around kX Mixer (Reset, surrounder enable, disable, ON, copy, etc etc). Now when I'm saying disabled, I mean playing stereo music generally sounds on other surrounded as well without any DSP settings (with 24bit) but not with 16Bit... So, I have to setup eplog in 16bit manually??? if yes then its quite strange that things are working automatically in 24bit mode...

Hi Oxtie
![]() Which OS are you using now? (Vista?, XP?) When you say 24 Bit, do you mean WaveHQ? WaveHQ is multichannel capable, and can bypass the DSP, where-as kX Wave 0/1 is the only non-HQ wave device that is multichannel capable, and it goes through the DSP and thus would be effected by plugins in the DSP such as Surrounder and epilog, etc (where WaveHQ may not be). |

Russ!
False alarm, it turns out to be a problem with ffdshow's 16bit out... (tried different decoder and all worked fine) XP + Media Player Classic + ffdshow (latest build) This option to check ON/OFF 16Bit, 24Bit, 32bit, is not exactly in mplayerc, its in ffdshow. I'm on "DirectSound: kX Wave SB 035x 10k2 [d8c0] 0/1 (00200000)" in mplayerc, reported above after trying two different builds of ffdshow (csid and xxl) though forgot that they're all test builds... ![]() Edit2: Aluminium Skin (kX main site) does not work (didn't check others) "Skin version is invalid"

yep, I did remember your answers
and quickly got it back! See, your nick is so powerful, just be seeing it, my brain's cache reloaded everything right ![]() I always like ffshow cauz it supports so many codecs, but besides that, Its the one I've found working with 1080p videos (while others took too much processor usage)... I got to see more of you (charges my battery all right!)

Re: 3545 bug reports
Newbie to kxDriver beta so bear with me. I'm running the 1820M Audio Dock to the 1010 card. I'm successful with initializing the card via JGSF's intialization command and I have 4 stereo pairs of analog outs outputting white noise from the Wave Generator 3.0 object to the FXBus object's inputs. I can hear the white noise from the 4 stereo pairs. The FXBus's outputs correspond to the following physical outs on the 1820M.
Analog Front Left [4000] to Output 1L This leaves me 8 outputs. I need 10 for my setup (of course we always want more...)Analog Front Right [4001] to Output 1R Digital Center [4004] to Output 2L Digital Subwoofer [4005] to Output 2R Headphones Left [4006] to Output 3L Headphones Right [4007] to Output 3R Analog Rear Left [4008] to Output 4L Analog Rear Right [4009] to Output 4R A couple questions: 1. The Analog Front L/R pins output audio to both 1L/R and the headphone out L/R. This is different from the Emu PatchMix software which allows me to output audio to either 1L/R or to the headphone mix (thus giving me 10 analog outs). It looks like there's no option to separate the Front L/R and the headphone outputs with the kx Drivers. Can someone verify this is indeed a limitation? 2. Another option is to add a DAC via the SPDIF out. I found a nice DAC on Ebay for ~$80.00 shipped. Before buying, I've been testing using a loop back spdif cable running from the 1010's rca spdif output jack to the spdif input jack. I have the E-DSP Control window digital options set to SPDIF for both input and output. I'm not getting any sound using the loop back (works fine with PatchMix). Because it's a loopback it could be either the input or the ouptut. Can someone verify spdif output with the 1010? Maybe I'm missing something? EDIT: FYI - Running Windows XP SP2, 3545b. Thanks, taji. Last edited by taji; Jan 1, 2009 at 02:46 AM. |

JGSF helped me sort the SPDIF loop back issue. SPDIF in and out are definitely working so ignore number 2. Still wondering regarding number 1. Not a show stopper but would be good to have 10 analog ouputs on the 1820. taji. |

Re: 3545 bug reports
I am posting a bug report regarding 3545b with the Audigy 2 ZS card utilizing SPDIF AC3 passthru. My external receiver is not receiving a digital signal when using this driver version and playing back any kind of AC3 digital source. I also tested 3544a and confirmed it is not working in that version either.
I reinstalled version 3541 and confirmed that it is working properly in this version. OS: Windows XP (SP3) 32-bit Sound Card: Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350 10k2 [b400]) Device: 41102 Subsys: 20021102 ChipRev: 4 The thread of what my setup is and how I tested it is located here: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/general-...-spdif-kx.html Thanks!
