underwater sound bug in Morrowind

Hi all, my friend installed recently new kx's 3533 and while playing Morrowind when swimming underwater the sound bagan to be noisy, cracking and such. Everything else seems to be okay, this is only while he is underwater. Maybe someone got similiar problem and was able to correct it, if so then please answer. His computer specs:
Intel celeron 1.3ghz
asus tusl2-c
geforce3ti200 graphics card(it really doesn't matter though)
60gb seagate barracuda IV(like above, doesn't matter much)
512 pc133 ram
windowx xp proffessional without sp1
kx drivers 3533 on Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
patched morrowind(sorry i don't remember exact version numbers)
latest drivers for motherboard, dx9 installed.
