Audigy Platinum EX external I\O not working
Hi, I have an Audigy 1 Platinum EX and the external I\O is not giving me any signs of life, no optical light, headphone out doesnt work.. Soundcard itself works fine... I have The KX 3545 driver right now, i have also tried the last stable driver (3541) with the exact same problem. Would appreciate the help..

Re: Audigy Platinum EX external I\O not working
I presume you checked the power cable?

Re: Audigy Platinum EX external I\O not working
the external I\O only has an "audigy extension cable" and ofcourse the firewire, both of which are hooked up firmly

Re: Audigy Platinum EX external I\O not working
Does kX detect it?
Choose "About..." from the kX context menu and scroll down to "Hardware / Software configuration" and see if it sows anything for "DB Name" (i.e. my audigy with the drivebay shows: "DB Name:LiveBay2"). |

Re: Audigy Platinum EX external I\O not working
I guess with the external I/O, the power needs to be connected to the Audigy Extension Card, do you have the power connected there?
(Here is the manual that I am looking at for that model, maybe it will be useful to you to verify connections, etc.) |

Re: Audigy Platinum EX external I\O not working
my bad, turns out the power cable wasn't connected at all, and all this time I was thinking it was gonna run off PCI motherboard power! quite careless indeed..Thanks for the manual mate, everythings working great! although I hear a very subtle digital noise when the headphones got no music on, volume too low to notice with music on. am gonna clear the table to cancel out any interference .. |

Hehe, I am glad that you got it working.
![]() When in doubt, checking the manual is always a good idea. |
