LineIn & Mic

Hello all!

I need record simultaneously from Mic (microphone) and LineIn (guitar) inputs (and use different effects for them e.g. APS Fuzz for guitar and Reverb Lite & Chorus Lite for Mic), but only one input can be selected into AC'97. I have tried Aux Mic and some others, but they don't work Is there a solution or it's a bug?

No solution, the ac97 codec is connected with the dsp (19k1/2) with 1 connection....
The only way to do this, is to use the livedrive, wich uses i2c codect for linein2/mic2 to connect it to the dsp.

what you can do however (as explained in another post) is to use 2 mono signals, or even some creative panning... (connect both, stereo mix them in ac97, linein, full left, mic full right, use 2 panx2 effects after the ac97 prolog connection, and route them to asio recordings, or skip the pan x2, and use normal recording, and split with a wave editor...

mic's and guitars are mono devices anyways.

But "native" Creative drivers can mix all the channels ("what U hear")... How they do it?

If I understand right, Mic and guitar must be plugged in different channels of one socket on sound card named "Line In" ? But I'm not sure they have identical electric parameters. Or what is "connect both, stereo mix them in ac97" ?

You know, there is another thread somewhere running, on the exact same subject, but the other way around :-)
he/she wants to have guitar and mic also recording at the same time, but in 2 diffrent tracks, I thought you wanted the same :-)

Anyways, yes, your solution is much simpler then... just plug the mic in mic in, guitar in line in (after an amp if possible, else the signal to noise is much to high)
Then, choose stereo mix, and unmute mic and line in in the ac97 tab.

use headfones to hear your own stuff, else you get a mic. feedback :-)
