This has happen several time since I started to use kxdrivers.
The sound will be fine all along and then suddenly, the sound will just stop working. No sound will come out from any applications I use. All other softwares and stuff load fine, but I won't be able to get any sound until I restart my computer. I am currently using 3533b. This problem happens frequently but it don't happen within a set time. Sometimes, my computer can be running fine for 3 days then it will suddenly just happen. And also, I have posted this before but I am still not sure how it works. I can get 4.1 surround sound but the problem with this is that the back speaker sound is actually mirrored from the front speakers. The mode I chose in surrounder is 4.1 movie mode. It is ok during music playback but when playing back DVD, I can't seem to be able to get the 4.1 discrete channel. I ran an AC3 test and if I turn off the surrounder, only the front 2 speakers work, and if I on the surrounder, the front and back speakers will have sound at the same time when it is suppose to test the channel individually. My setting for the audio properties in WinDVD is 4.1 speakers, and I am using the analog output of the soundcard. My computer setup is as follow Athlon XP 1700+ Asus A7V266E Soundblaster Live! Value [SB0102 5.1 d000] 512MB Ram kx Driver 3533b PCI Latency patch installed Windows XP SP1 Please help as the no sound problem is really fustrating. I really like kx drivers and it is way better than the Creative drivers. Thanks Eugene. You are a saviour for making this driver. My SB Live! just found a new lease of life. But I just hope you can fix the above problem.

Hi!
I was wondering about a little detail: Is the problem happening BETWEEN two sounds or may it happen DURING a sound that the sound disappears? Give examples what you do when this happens. If the sound disappears, then I think that you MAY have the same problem as we in this thread: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...threadid=12095 All of this which you wrote match our problem: "The sound will be fine all along and then suddenly, the sound will just stop working. No sound will come out from any applications I use. All other softwares and stuff load fine, but I won't be able to get any sound until I restart my computer. I am currently using 3533b. This problem happens frequently but it don't happen within a set time. Sometimes, my computer can be running fine for 3 days then it will suddenly just happen." Except that we also get a continous beep where you get silence. |

Sometimes I will also get distortion but that seems to have stop after a while. Usually it is between 2 sounds. I will take a look at the thread. Any luck of fixing it yet?
