XP shutdown.

hi i read the faq i did wat microsoft said.... but it didnt work... why? the computer just stop and i still can move my mouse.... but other than tat i cant do anything.... i dled the drivers installed them.... anyway the XP is a fresh install on a new hardisk with SP 1 installed thanks in advance!
