CT4780 with Vista SP1 - only makes noise!

I had my CT4780 card working perfectly with Vista SP1 using kx 5.10.0.3541. Now all of a sudden, seemingly for no reason, I get only a pulsating whine or growl whenever a sound should be played. I'm uninstalled and reinstalled the kx software and the driver from Device Mangager. I've tried different versions of kx, and I've even tried moving the card to another PCI slot. Any suggestions??

Do not plug more than 2 Go ram memory in your box. It's a known issue not resolved at this time.

The problem is still here with kx3549 x86 on Windows vista sp2 with 3go ram kingston hyperx ddr3. Again removing 1go of memory resolves the problem.
