exclamation Windows 7 & 3 Gb RAM

Hi all, hi developers.

When using Windows 7 Beta 7000 with SB Live 5.1 sound card, I got strange machine-gun' like hindrances... very strange ones...

But when detach one 1gb RAM module, I got perfect 5.1-surround sound, but 3 Gb, again, causes those sound troubles..

Use 3 Gb of Patriot' single-gigabyte RAM modules, kx-drivers v.3538....

And if curse... kx mixer doesn't work..

Re: Windows 7 & 3 Gb RAM

Technically kX does not support Windows 7 at all right now, and the RAM thing is a known issue with Vista (WinMM/DSound will not work with > 2GB RAM).

AW: Windows 7 & 3 Gb RAM

Hello!
I'm using kx3546 on Windows 7 RC1 x64. The sound was working fine, though half as loud as on Windows XP (no problem, just put up the volume on AV receiver).

Now I added 4GB RAM to my previously 2GB, makes total of 6GB. And there is no more sound playing, nothing. I know, Windows7 is not supported officially, but may I presume that kx driver won't work on Vista (even 64 bit edition!) when using more than 2GB RAM? If so, will there be a fix in the future? Would be a pity throwing away a good Soundblaster Live!.

Hello, pal!

Comparing other driver releases for my Live 5.1, I found that even they don't support more than 2 gigabytes of RAM, strange thing ain't it?

I had no more problems when using the same amount of RAM in Windows XP, perfect sound, better performance, but Windows x64 fails the sound at all..

That is a probability of solving these issues of problems?
