Hi,
I'm installing on Win98SE. I deleted all the Creative drivers. My SBLive: CT4620. V3528 install causes msgsrv32 to crash just after the drivers are installed. I've then run kxsetup --clean (but my registry still contains nearly 900 kx items. It seems a few people are having a similar problem!) V3533b doesn't crash, but still says 'Failed to initialise card, reinstall driver', which I've tried to no avail. No sound system. kx looks brilliant from the screen shots. Please help. May be you reached 64K registry limit in Win98SE?
In this case try this sequence: 1. remove all unneccesary entries in your registry 2. install kX drivers as usually 3. without restarting manually update driver from sytem settings -> devices 4. modify startup options of kxmixer in registry with keys applicable for you audio card (see help in drivers) 5. restart 6. reinitialize drivers in DSP window |

What registry settings for kxmixer?
I just cleaned it out before the install with 'System Mechanic' so I don't think it the registry size. If I just search for 'kx mixer' in the registry - I get 168 matches...
What are the registry settings you referred to? I couldn't find anything here or on the kx website... Doesn't the install program set all the registry keys itself? |

install the monitor (from kxdev.narod.ru) and watch its output when you try to launch kxmixer.exe
