Line in 2/ mic 2 mono

Hello.
Sorry for my English, I'm French and it is an automatic translation.

I have a little problem with my soundblaster live platinum:
the "LINE IN 2/MIC 2" input is monophonic and I do not know if it's a bug or a hardware problem?
I obviously well check routing and mixing. Everything is good.
I also try other stereo equipment with another cable and I have the same problem.

Thank you in advance for your answers and thank you for your driver.
I am in: Version: 5, 10, 00, 3550 - debug

Re: Line in 2/ mic 2 mono

The line in/mic in jack on the Live Platinum is a dual function jack. When the knob is switched to off (fully left, you will feel a "click") it is stereo line level input. As soon as you turn it "on" (turn the volume up) it is a mono mic level input jack. If you have the volume turned up at all and you are trying to input a stereo line level source you will get a mono signal...... it's a hardware limitation.

Re : Line in 2/ mic 2 mono

Thank you very much for your quick and clear answer.
I have my soundblaster live for a very long time but I never connected a stereo instrument on this input.
It proves that I can still learn about this very good sound card.
I am not ready to part with it!
