Unreal Tournament with XP possible bug

hi ... luv the sblive driver with cubase.

1 problem tho .. my UT goty edition doesnt work. Unless I goto safemode and disable sound then it just hangs on the intro with a black screen.

Is it just me or am i just not dim :0)

I had this problem too. You have to diable direct sound. Also you should use opengl becuase directx is slow and does nto seem to work right, well for me that is. You have to go to your unreal tournament system directory and open up unrealtournament.ini and change UseDirectSound=True to False. It is under [Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem]. And if you use opengl use this plugin, http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/. Oh and it might not be hung at the black screen it might just be taking a while but with direct sound enabled you are guaranteed to lock up if you try to change advanced preferences or video settings.

I've got UT (original) and UT2003 running just fine here. I just set it up from the CD and have never enabled or disabled sound or directsound. And I am running XP, so it is probably not XP related... I used to have lock ups when I had a VIA KT133 motherboard + sblive with this games...

UT and SBLive

Remember when UT 99 (original UT and GOTY versions, not UT2003) was released, there was the 436 patch -- and a 436 patch for SBLIVE users specially. We Creative SBLivers had to download a unique patch. Makes me think there's something special about UT99 and our cards. Dunno what.

That special patch was for UT when it came with your sblive. But then I guess it would be worth a shot to try it I guess. Also if I am not mistaken this is not limited to creative cards or the kxdrivers, more of a UT problem.
