kx driver install and mixer not functional w/o IE?

I recently used a program called IE Eradicator to remove Internet Explorer from my Windows ME system. It seems that this has also left the kx mixer and install programs non functional. Whatever software is used to render these windows must have been removed along with Internet Explorer, because when I try to install the kx driver through the GUI install method, I get errors and the install screen will not load. I have tried multiple versions of the drivers. I CAN however install by way of the kx.inf file. The catch is that while sound works fine and the mixer loads to the tray, you cannot get into the mixer GUI itself. Any click to get to the GUI of the mixer creates the same error that the installer comes across, and then the mixer closes.

The error for either is close to as follows:

Quote:

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library

Debug Assertion Failed!

Program: C:\Windows\System\kxsetup.exe
File: e:\.projects\emu10k1\.my\kxgui\file.cpp
Line: 634

Expression: Succeeded (hr) && gpPicture

Abort Retry Ignore
I did choose to install the MFC debug libraries, and I am thinking that this error has to do with these. Might they require Internet Explorer or one of its components?

Edit: Nevermind. I found my answer. Note the striking similarities in these two posts, lol.
