Ongoing Problems Regarding Updates!!!
Hi Guys
I have had a problem with every release since 3528. It is the only release that works on my system. I have tried updating all other releases following the instructions. They all install and work while the system is running just after installation. When I reboot the system no sound works at all in any of the applications. I then reinstall v3528 and all works again. Any ideas. System specs as follows. Windows xp pro sp1 Celeron 1.00ghz cpu 512 meg ram 120g seagate h/drive 20 g ibm secondary drive Soundblaster Live Card Any ideas or assistance would be appreciated!

When you upgraded, have you set the surrounder effect in the kx dsp window to match your current set of speaker? There may be your answer...

Hey Daniel Dude You Are The Man!!!!!!!!!!!
I worked out what you meant I changed the settings in the surrounder from 2.1 to 5.1 and it worked. However when I reset it went back to the old setting. I then checked in the multimedia properties and found that the speakers were set to 5.1 Surround which I don't have. I changed these to Desktop Speakers and reset again and the settings remained and worked. You don't know how long I have been trying to resolve this. It must have been an issue after version 3528. I never had to do these things in v3528 it just worked on its own. Anyway thank you very much for your suggestion and keep up the good work. :

Midgo, actually KX gods recommend you to leave your multimedia properties set to 5.1. The surrounder plugin should be able to configure your card properly. After messing with it you could save a profile with the working settings, so whenever it doesn't work you can load that profile and have sound.

Midgo has seen the light.
I have worked out why I could not make things work. What an utter newbla I am. I have my sound card running through a mini hi fi system which does have dolby pro logic but guess what. I had the setting set to bypass on the mini hifi so the program could not keep the settings at 5.1 surounder and 5.1 speakers. I switched the setting on the mini hifi to pro logic and set the settings on the program to 5.1 surrounder and 5.1 speakers and rebooted and guess what. It worked. Guess whose a silly boy then. Thanks to you all for your help. Keep up the good work.
