either
s_voiceloopback "0" or voiceloopback "0" in console I am also currently unpleased with the way they have the mic working. Recording from the mic should be ONLY FROM "MIC". Not a mix of "what you hear" + "MIC". Or is there some magical DSP configuration that fixes this?

In the rec page, turn all the way down the PCM/WAV recording level.
