possible bug?
if i have the analog out on epilog completely disconnected, i *sometimes* still hear the source.
also: i cant get the signal to output on only one channel. i always hear stuff on both channels (left AND right), again, even if the other pin isnt connected on the epilogue. or if i mute it or anything. this way i cant hard pan anything. (which i really need) ive been experiencing similar strange behaviors in the past, but i wasnt paying this much attention to it, i was blaming it on my audio cables (theyre really shitty) - thinking it was cable crosstalk. now i checked it and its not. you can see my previous observations regarding this matter in the pitch shifter thread. apparently its not the pitch shifter's fault, but someone else was experiencing it aswell. whats the deal? if this is a bug, is it possible to locate and fix it? if its a feature... - well - i dont like it! ![]() how come people arent bothered with this? i mostly have mono signals and id like to have as many as possible (not being forced to using 2 channels for the same mono signal instead of two signals).

well, this is a 'feature': the signal gets mixed before it is processed by the DSP -- so, you cannot fix this by tweaking the kX DSP window...
if I've understood you correctly: when any stereo Wave is panned, you get a 'mix' of left & right channels instead of 'left-only' or 'right-only' output this feature can be disabled, but I need to add this option to the kX Mixer let me know if you need this /E |

pretty much correct. but its not that simple. even if nothing is connected to the epilogue, a certain mix can still be heard on both output channels. i really cant see why this could be useful for anything/anyone. Yes, please, give me an option to disable this 'feature'

maybe you didnt understand me right:
look at this: http://dontlisten.dyndns.org/img/kxbug1.jpg if i connect the whole thing like this, i get output on both channels. left and right. right is a bit quieter, but i dont want it to be there at all! i mean - the peakmeter says -oo for the right channel, but at the end there is output there. i dont think it should be this way. and not just that: http://dontlisten.dyndns.org/img/kxbug2.jpg even this results in output on both channels (again, right is quieter). i think this is just wrong. i really cant see why would anyone want this "feature". if someone needs "balance" instead of "pan", then they should use a different plugins for that. if you understood this the right way before, im sorry. its just that im a bit disappointed with 3535 being out and this "feature" still being there for me (though i do understand its 3535 ALPHA and also im not even sure if i was calling right commands to disable this) dont get me wrong, i LOVE this driver/package. its just that its not very useful to me the way described above.

ah.. a different thing
![]() anyway, a pan<->balance stuff is now selectable, too ![]() your issue is, however, related to the AC97 codec (i.e., this is a hardware issue) do you have 'swap front&rear' option turned on? if yes, turn it off and plug your speakers accordingly -- check if the issue is still there then, open kxmixer -> check if there's '3DSE' option active on the 'ac97' page then, try to insert any 'dummy' effect (such as St Vol) between the epilog and the fxbus then, post your hardware info from the 'About...' dialog box of the kx mixer /E |

if i unswap front&rear, then front works ok (finally) but rear now has the same problem. there's no 3DSE set. i will try more tomorrow (im buying a new/used sb live PLATINUM!!! - is there anything i should be careful about?)
