Ill post my specs just for reference.
P4 HT enabled 1gig DDR SB Live! 5.1 > 3554 kx drivers My system refuses to go into standby mode when the timer is up IF the manager program is on. I have no idea why... if i turn it off, the system will go into standby when the timer is up. But my system will go into standby manually... |

do you mean 'Control Panel'->'Power Options'->'Power Schemes'->'System Standby time'?

ok, I found the reason:
the kX Manager opens kX Control MIDI device in order to receive information from the Remote control, as well as provide kX Automation functionality. Windows kernel is sure that any opened MIDI device assumes the computer is in use, and, thus, it doesn't update the idle timer. this issue cannot be solved at the moment the only possible solution is to disable the kX Control device via the control panel -- but you will loose kX Remote, as well as kX Automation functionality /E |

Hi,
I experienced exactly the same problem. But I didn't find out how to disable the kx control device. (I am using WinXP and driver version 3535). How exactly can I disable it? Would it be possible to add an option in the kx mixer to disable this device as I dont't need neither automation nor the remote? |

Re: kX Manager Bug
Sorry to dredge up this rather old issue, but is there a workaround for the problem of system standby not working whilst kx mixer is running? I too have no need of automation/remote functionality.
I guess I could remove kx mixer automatic startup from the registry HKLM / Run, and manually run kx mixer from the Start menu when I need to, but this isn't ideal.

Re: kX Manager Bug
I am having problems too, after coming back from standby mode, the soundcard's I/O don't work at all. Currently the workaround is simply restarting the app, and well, you have to do it every time :S.
I am on an old Dell celeron based laptop with an SB0530 running winxp 32-bit on version 3550 of the driver Does standby mode work fine for everybody else?
