Hibernation bug

Version: 5, 10, 00, 3534 - debug
Kompiliert: Aug 19 2003 01:23:27

I'm afraid we have to inform you that AC97 did not survive hibernation.

Seriously, after reactivating the computer from hibernated state the kx-mixer does not show the AC97-icon any more and lineIn is dead.

My system is an epox nforce2 board (nForce_2.45_WinXP2K_WHQL)
SBLive Player 1024
Windows XP Pro Version 5.1.2600 (SP1)

was it back after reboot?
if it disappeared completely, then, probably, it was a hardware issue

After reboot everything is fine again.
Let me check the standby mode ...
... same thing, AC97 is also gone but this time linein still works.

Ok so after hibernation and standby the AC97 icon is gone and linein does not work after hibernation anymore. Maybe it's a hardware issue or drivers aren't correctly installed. Does anybody have the same problems? It's easy to try out.

yes, more feedback would be useful

perhaps, the ac97 codec went into 'suspend' mode and wasn't correctly restored by the driver

I have the exactly same problem with the 3534 version, this didnt happen with the prevoius version i was using: 3532

Description of the problem:

After coming back from hibernation the following happen:
-> AC'97 icon disapears from Kx Mixer
-> Stop having sound in front speakers
-> Rear speakers work fine and i can use the "swap fron-rear" and get the front channels to be played in rear speakers

My system:
SB Live 5.1 [SB0060]
CPU AMD 1 GHz
MBoard ASUS A7A266
OS: Win XP SP1

I'll try to get the card moved to a similar PC running Windows 2000 SP4 and give some feedback about it.
If anyone from staff need any other information please let me know.

Finally and since its my first post here I would live to congrat KX Project team for the outstanding work

if you quit & re-launch the mixer, does it solve the problem?

after 3535 is out, please re-check this issue and let me know if it is fixed
3535 is to be released within 1-2 weeks

No, it doesn't. I've also tried to reset DSP and remove/add the Epilog but neither of these solves the problem.

I got the same problem.

My system is: p4-2.4GHz, gigabyte GA-8x667 on i845 chipset, 512 DDR RAM, Audigy (OEM version), WinXP SP1.

Sometimes, even I reboot my pc - I still don't get AC97 codec back, therefore I have to reboot again (up to 3 times). I wonder if this problem could be connected somehow with EAX support included in this release (5, 10, 00, 3534 - debug).

Hi Eugene!

Just yesterday I got this issue also as I left my computer ´cause of a telephone call and I turned it into suspend mode. After the wake up the AC97 icon in the mixer was gone. Front speakers were off. As I moved the front volume sliders then the sound was back. After a complete rebooting all was fine again. I just wanted to say this.

Best regards!

Hi

I'm also suffering with this bug. The system withte SB Live 5.1 card is my MP3/DivX box and majority of the time it runs headless playing MP3s. It's a hassle to have to connect a monitor to reboot after I hibernate the machine and wake it up.

My system is a MSI Slim PC with a P3 600 on an i815E chipset. I'll wait and test out teh new driver.

can you install the monitor (kxdev.narod.ru) and watch its output when you go into hibernation and resume?
btw, after ac97 icon disappears, does kX Mixer still report the presence of the ac97 codec?
[in the 'about...' dialog box]
what is your codec model displayed by the mixer? (the same 'about' window)

How do I use this monitor? I try ti start it but it throw the following error: "ERROR (1058: The driver is marked as disabled (Start=4) in it's service database."

After hibernating and resuming, the info page doesn't list any AC97 codec.

The codec listed is: EMicro UNKNOWN

>> ERROR (1058: The driver is marked as disabled

you don't need to upload the kx.sys into the monitor
simply start monitor.exe, make sure it doesn't print any error messages
now, start any audio playback
you should get a line similar to 'waveout: xxxx xxxx ' in the monitor log
now, enter 'hibernation' mode
resume
check the log

I still cannot get the monitor to work.

When i first start it, I get the following:

Unable to start the support driver.
Local messages will not be available.
Remote reader thread started
-- end -

Am I supposed to start or enable something?
