Hi!
I´ve somtimes discovered dropouts in my 6-channel multitack recording. As a logical solution it seems to me to increase the record buffer. After that I got the ASIO-message "Error creating buffer...latency...". Is there a limit of record-buffer size? The hardware acceleration is set to 100% and my current driver is the 3534 update (from 3533). Thanx for help in advance! TravelRec.

the maximal buffer size is 65536 bytes
(both for ASIO and WinMM/DIrectSound) so, simple calculations: (2 (16 bit) * number_of_channels * latency (in ms) * 48000)/1000 will give you the required buffer size make sure it is not bigger than 65536 /E |

Hi Eugene!
Thanx for your reply again! My setting for the record buffer size is really below 65536. I only tried to increase it to the next level over the default setting (don´t remember the real value ´cause it´s on another PC, think 32k), but the error appears instantly behind the modification in the ASIO-panel. Now I returned to the old values and all works fine. BTW I have a complete new driver setup, after I followed your recommendation to disable ACPI and now the card is in another slot to get a different IRQ (before it was shared with USB, now it is shared with ATI, one single IRQ for the card is unfortunally not possible on my system). Maybe this will give more stability and avoids some dropouting... With best regards! TravelRec.
