PC hangs in games for some seconds and repeats the sound

This is the first time I am using the KX drivers and I am just getting used to them.

But, when playing Max Payne 2 ( EAX Environmental Effects Off, Multi-channel audio On) the game hangs every few minutes for maybe 10 seconds and repeats the last sound that was being played. That is - of course - really annoying.

I have the following config:
Win2k SP4
Athlon B
Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Player
KX driver 3536c

I hope you can help me.

Thank you.

That seems to work.
The difference I noticed was that in the comic sequences sound now comes out of all boxes and not just out of the front ones.
I'm not sure, but I think that the ingame speeches of max or mona are not a clear as before, as they now seem to come out of the 3d environment and not just directly out of the front box.

Sorry that I answered your post so late - I didn't get an email telling me someone posted in here, although I enabled "email notification".

Max Payne 2

I have the same issues (not to say problems) with the kx 5.10.00.3534 - debug driver and max payne 2. It's actually impossible to play the game with these noises. I tried the version kx3535 and I had two bluescreens with XP Home. The first crash was when I tried to change the settings in the kx Mixer (I clicked on the 'Rec' button) and the second happend during the game (mp2).

The thing is, that I need the kx driver to get my Cubase SX 2.01 running together with my Audigy2 card, but I can't use it for mp2 (by the way: the game works fine with the original creative driver)

Any ideas?

Bye now.
