Master volume mute/unmute bug
Ok so when I use sndvol32 to mute the sound, every time I open a program it (presumably the KX driver) unmutes it. This happens whether the KX Manager app is running or not. Similarly, if I set the volume level, it gets set to 50 percent when I open a program (any program that uses sound). What's the deal-o? Do I have to give up sndvol32?
I also have a multimedia keyboard driver that allows me to mute/unmute from my keyboard and change the volume too (with a knob no less!). I *really* don't want to give that feature up! So is this really a bug or can someone tell me how to fix this? Windows 2000 Pro SP4 Sound Blaster Live! Value CT4670, latest release of KX audio driver and stuff. (well, as of 2 days ago) Keyboard software is called "KeyMaestro" and is made by a company called Emprex in Taiwan P.S. I noticed it resets when I *exit* a program too. In short, no matter what I do it always unmutes me and sets the master volume to 50% upon starting/exiting any program that uses sound. What gives? (LATER ON THAT DAY): Bah, forget it. I checked that "Multimedia Keyboard Enabled" box and all is well. You forum moderator types can delete this if you want, but you could leave it up here for anyone who might have the same problem as I did since a search in your forum for "mute unmute" produced no relevant results for me .
