There is a very minor bug in the dutch translation.
In the taskbar icon-menu instead of the dutch translation for "Device" there are some funny characters. It Should read: "Apparaat" It's only cosmetic, but hey! It bugs me

That was fast
![]() I also went on a search myself, and I found the lang.ini file with al the translations. What I noticed was that it has been translated by a begian who speaks flemmish. Do not get me wrong, flemmish is sorta dutch, but they translate a lot of things, well, different. There are things that at first glance do not make sense to me, as a proper dutchman (nofi to the belgians ).I'd like to offer to retranslate, so that you can split the dutch language group into two: Dutch(nl) and Dutch(be). This would constitute a perfect situation, you should compare it to the situation with US-english / UK-english or Portugese / Brasillian Portugese. The differences are subtle, but distinct when you're a native speaker.

Could you give an example? I am (as a native Dutch speaker from the south of the Neterlands) not so sure the difference between Dutch Dutch and Flemmish Dutch are really big. Perhaps the differences between Dutch from the north and from the south of The Netherlands are as big, so it could be a matter of your personnel taste...

The differences are about as big as with the two French language sets you have, the one is French from france,
the other is Canadian French. And really the differences between flemmish an dutch are of similar magnitude. However i must say that with technical dutch the differences are somewhat less. But i also noticed that there are lots of things wich have not been translated at all yet.

I suggest you first update the present translation
![]() and contact the translation author for further Dutch-related discussions (his e-mail is listed in the lang.ini file) follow our translation guide (www.kxproject.com/trans.php) -- and use the lang.ini bundled with 3537a release (found in the 'general' forum) /E Last edited by Eugene Gavrilov; Jan 16, 2004 at 09:08 AM. |
