Movie (not DVD) playback always looses sync
Hi!
Ever since using kx, I had the problem that a lot of movies (avi, ogm, mkv - matroska) do not stay in sync. Normally, simply seeking to another part of the movie lets everything get in sync again, but gradually it loses the sync again. I always had that problem, but lately (maybe with a change to the latest kx beta, maybe because I changed SB live in my standalone-movie-player to Audigy) it has grown worse. Movies are out of sync after about ten seconds of playback, and I could not find a workaround for this. Normally I use ZoomPlayer for playback, so I can control every single aspect of the rendered media graph. Setting the default audio mixer to all available channels did not help (and no sound at all with "DirectSound: kxWave xx" or "kxWave xx"), using the "ReClock" filter did not help. My movies are OK. And the fault does not lie with the media players, since all the movies work OK with the "native" creative drivers, or with other sound hardware. But since my player is my standalone media box, I "have" to use kx, in order to get DSP control (active XO and so on). Has anyone an idea how to find a workaround for this? Or at least an explanation why this can happen? Thanks, Arndt |

Hi!
An addition to my first post: I experimented with CoreMediaPlayer, and maybe this bug is somewhat related to ZoomPlayer... CoreMediaPlayer has the same sync problems, but when I tell the player to use "kx Wave SB0092 10k2[dc00]0/1" for audio output, the sync issues disappear. But when I select the same audio output for ZoomPlayer, no sound is played at all, and switching audio streams crashes the player. All of this is connected to the way DirectShow handles audio playback, since all those players "simply" build DirectShow media graphs for playback, so by using the same graph, two players should achieve the same result... I will also post into the ZoomPlayer forum. But still, it can't be right that DirectShow has sync issues if the default DirectSound audio renderer is used... Bye, Arndt |

Hi!
It is what the system (DirectShow) reports as "Default DirectSound Device", as opposed to "kx-special" devices like "DirectSound: kx Wave SB0092 10k2 [dc00] 0/1" or "kx Wave SB0092 10k2[dc00] 0/1" for example. Bye, Arndt |
