Horrible crash with fresh install of kx drivers!

It was my first or second day running with the kx driver's instead of creative's drivers. They sounded fine, and I thought they were working.

After leaving my computer along for 2 hours(no sound was playing), i was startled when the speakers started emitting loud sounds (sort of crackling but with more structure). I unlocked my computer from the screensaver and it promptly froze it a few second. WHAT THE HECK!?!?!?

When I installed the kx drivers, I uninstalled creative's drivers from the add/remove programs section and then I rebooted and installed the kx drivers. Do I have to do a registry scan for creative? It definitely seemed like it was removed.

I think I would like to uninstall this version of the kX drivers (using 3534 now), and install the latest version to see if that crashes. If it does I will just go back to creative's drivers.

Has anybody heard of a crash like this before?

My system was rock solid and very stable before the kx drivers

well I just formatted my system, (windows was crapping on itself after I installed 3534 and then 3536, both had problems). Perhaps they didn't work because i had installed/uninstalled creative drivers first, but either way, I was not feeling to confident about the kx drivers stability with windows, so I installed creatives on my fresh system. Maybe if I have to reformat again I'll give the kx drivers another try.... stabilty >> possible sound improvements in mp3 playback(although I'm not even sure they sounded better, since I was using foobar 2000 with kernel streaming to begin with). Any thoughts?

it's alright for creative drivers to be on ur computer initially.
u should definitely uninstall the creative drivers 1st and search through ur registry settings for added security to remove remaining creative reg keys. it will help in the long run to keep ur registry on ur computer less bloated and without producing conflict when u install kX drivers, trust all of us the quality on the whole will be better when u manage the right kX settings! =D

I do not use foobar 2000 (winamp 5.01 all e way) but if u read up u know there are some hacks by pp the creator to make the music produced sound acceptable overall. kX wouldn't improve from foobar's point of view but its efficient drivers will benefit ur system overall... please feedback 2 us once u try the drivers k! =]
