3537 bug when recording?
Greetings.
It seems that if I record from any of the Prolog's sources, I can hear any DSP effect I load, but it won't be recorded. For example, if I put an effect between the AC97 outputs of the Prolog module and In0/In1 inputs of the Xrouting module, I will hear it in real time, but if I record it, the resulting wave file will contain the "dry" AC97 recording. I've also tried disconnecting the RecL and RecR connectors between the Xrounting and the Epilog modules, but anything originating from the AC97 inputs will be recorded anyway, while waves and MIDIs won't, as expected. I even tried unloading the Prologue module, but I can record from the AC97 inputs anyway, although I won't hear it in real time. This made me think that perhaps the sources of the Prologue module are recorded through a separate path, no matter how I configure the DSP. Perhaps it's a hardware limitation, or a driver bug. Anyone can explain? I know this is a bit difficult to explain, furthermore English is not my primary language, so if you don't understand what I wrote please tell me, so I'll try to explain it better. Thanks in advance. |

I've already read the guides several times, but I haven't found my answers. I've been using the KX drivers for more than 1 year and I've played with them a lot, so I "think" I know how they works. And I don't think I'm doing something wrong. It's definitely a driver bug or a hardware limitation.
But are you sure that the guides contain the answer to my questions, or did you suggest me to read them only because you think they do? Thanks anyway. |

the xrouting is useless apart general usage… use the mx6 or stereo mix to mix signals for mme recording

I see. None of you understand what I mean, unfortunately (I'm not saying that it is your fault).
Let me rephrase it: I want to apply some effects (for ex. reverb) to a source, for example AC97's Line in, and I want to record it. But it doesn't work. I only get the dry sound, due to either a driver bug or a hardware limitation. How do I fix it? |

you have to add these FX into the DSP, connect the ac97 in the prolog to it, and then to the epilog (Recl/r or asio)

I have to admit this way it works, but what if I want to connect the AC97 to Xrouting (the default connection)? So I can record from other sources as well.

use the mx6 plugin to mix record signals

Hi mix32!
I thought, if you use kx such a long time, you know what´s to do in DSP... The easiest way for your desire is to apply a STEREO MIX plugin in the DSP between AC97 and Xrouting. Connect @ the upper two inputs the AC97out , @ the lower 2 inputs your FX out. Connect AC97out with FX in too. Connect the out of STEREO MIX with Xrouting AC97in. Now you can tweek with STEREO MIX the level of dry and wet signal. You can immediately hear the effect and, logically, recording it. Cheers! TravelRec.

To Travelrec: indeed, I've been playing with the KX DSP for a long time, and I've found other ways to obtain what I desire. Your method is very similar to what I tried to do, without success unfortunately. I don't know, perhaps it's my hardware/software configuration, but it just doesn't work.
I'd like to use a method like yours because I don't want to modify the default connections of RecL/RecR (Epilog) With your method, I can hear the effect immediately, but not recording it, *not* logically. That's why I think there's a bug. Have you tried it? BTW, here's a screenshot: ftp://mix32.dyndns.org:3286/dsp.jpg |

the xrouting plugin isn't logical imho… get rid of it and wire it yourself - thats how i do it

Ok, but did you look at my screeshot? It should work that way, shouldn't it?

it should, but the xrouting is confusing to me… using a mixer like the mx6 in replacement is generally far easier than trying to figure out the slight adjustments to the mixer and the dsp required
