Hitman Contracts sound volume is extremely low

Hi,

I'm using v3537 of KX drivers, and the sound in the game "Hitman Contracts" is very very low (it's so low that makes the game unplayable)

I've disabled EAX support in the game, but the problem persists.

The volume of the music in the game menu is correct, but when you start to play the game it drops to extremely low levels and you can't hear anything.

I have a SB Live! Value, and a friend of mine has a SB Audigy2 and experiences exactly the same problem!

Both of us are using Windows XP SP1.

Could you give us some advice, please?

Hi again,

It seems that the volume was low because I don't have rear speakers, only front ones. Setting the speaker preset configuration to "2.0 Simple Mix" solved the problem.

such an issue sounds like you had the swap front/rear option in use, but were using the green output… this would cause the rear volume (which is what you were using) to be much lower than the front in a 5.1 setup
