No KX ASIO Win98 SE!!!
Hi everyone: I have the following problem. I use a dual boot (Win 98SE and Win XP); and while in XP the driver is sucessful installed, I don't have ASIO support in 98. In both systems I use the ASIO drivers for applications like Reason (for low latency
)Any idea about "missing" ASIO support? Thanks a lot |

Hi!
For 98SE: Be sure you´ve set hardware acceleration to "full", sample conversion to "best" and you have DirectX version 8.1 or higher installed. Furthermore set the HDs to DMA mode for flawless data transfer. Greetings! TravelRec.

I use Reason in Win98, and I can use the KX MME driver, which has high latency (about 21 ms), but when I try switch to KX ASIO, I can't. In Edit/Preferences/Audio the driver is marked with a red "X", as unusable.
In WinXP all this stuff works OK...Any idea? |

Hi!
Try to reinstall kX. BTW there is no kX-MME-driver, only kX-ASIO. Are you sure you are using 98SE? TravelRec.

I have discovered lately that even though 3538a seemed to install properly with Win 98SE, that when I tried to add any plugins, (while in DSP) rt. Click->Add Effect / Plugin,
Found out that, it didn't matter which one I selected, Default, Basic, APS etc., attempting to pull out an effect here, shuts KX down with an ILLEGAL OPERATION notice. This is true on 2 computers that I am running. I decided to give up on Win 98SE on my main recording computer and got XP, then reinstlled KX 3537, (I am a little gun shy about 3538a) and am going to uninstall 3538a on the 98SE 'puter and go with 3537. Don't know if Eugene made a decision for sure that he couldn't guarantee support for 98SE but 3537 is fine with me anyway and I guess the time had come to move up to XP. |
