Oxygen 8 driver drops out
After installing the KX drivers (Which I must say went quite well on my XP box) my computer would no longer load the second driver for the M-Audio Oxygen 8 USB MIDI controller I use. I had no problems installing and using the controller before intsallation of the KX drivers. The controller doesn't even show up in the controller list of the sequencers I use. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing the controller drivers to see if that would make a difference, but to no avail. I ended up doing a system restore and came here to see if I could get some answers.
Is this a bug? Or is there a quick way around it that I am missing? Anyone's help greatly appreciated! Donbrad3 Oh yeah....I am running an AMD 3200+ XP with SBLive 5.1 card 512 RAM and XP Home Edition Last edited by donbrad3; Sep 8, 2004 at 05:25 PM. Reason: Forgot to add hardware description |

I'm a little confused as to how this would fix the driver dropping out after the KX drivers were installed.
The problem is that after installing the KX drivers, the computer would no longer recognise the external USB M-Audio MIDI controller, but after uninstalling......the MIDI controller worked fine. That says to me that the drivers are overriding the OS's ability to load both drivers needed for the USB MIDI device and therefore will not communicate with it properly. Has anyone else had any problems trying to get their USB MIDI devices to work? donbrad3 |

Well, I suggested that because KX drivers only work with midi when there's a soundfont loaded (see the FAQ and Begginers guide for more info on that if you need). It won't hurt trying to see if it solves the problem. Also, there's a limit in the number of wave/midi devices windows can have at one time. Search the forum about it.
