No sound when creating accounts in XP

I've been using KX for a time now, and it has been working just fine.

...until I created another user account in Win XP. Everything seems to work (no error messages, no problems with starting KX when startup), but there is simply no sound in either of the user accounts.

I thought it was a hardware problem at first, but when uninstalling KX the sound is back.

Any suggestions? ...and please no suggestion to remove user... :-)

I've a 1,33 GHz Athlon with 384 mb ram and a SBLive 1024 (?), Win XP Professional.
