Kx.sys blue screen kx3538h
Hi Fellow Kx Users,
I've been noticing occational blue screen crashes under kx driver version 3538h. It seems to happen when I try to adjust my main output volume while audio is playing back from any application using WDM or ASIO. I open up the kxmixer and the second I click on the main volume control, my computer goes blue screen. I jotted down the main parts of the error message the last time it happened... Kx.sys The driver has mistakenly marked a part of its image pageable instead of non pageable. *** STOP: 0x000000D3 (0xF9654FB0,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x804DA860) My Card is SB0090 w/audigy drive. I don't know if the driver is at fault or my system is... It does not happen often... seems the computer has to be running without a reboot for a few days before it has a chance of happening. Anyone else seen this or have suggestions where I can look to fix it? Temp |

Hi all,
I just happened across this thread from a link in this one http://www.hardwareheaven.com/bug-reports/100655-mute-multimedia-key-bsods.html I am using the j version of the drivers and I have the same BSOD when accessing the main volume controls. One thing I did notice from the thread link posted above is that I did enable multimedia keyboard support. I hadn't really thought of that until the thread sounded familiar. So, maybe these BSODs are multimedia keyboard issues? |

I'd like to confirm that this may infact be turning on multimedia keyboard support. I have a second computer using KX 3538j and the support for that was turned off and I never recieved any problems. So out of curiosity I enabled it and the BSODs began. Turning it off again stopped these errors.
For me it's no big deal, I just switched to a blackbox plugin that gives support for these keyboards. But I thought I would just post my finding none the less. \ Peace |

With or without it, I still got and get lots of BSoD's. Using a Genius KB-16M keyboard. |

I too have experienced this. With the regular version and the 3538j beta. But with me it only happens when I mute the system with the main volume button on the audigy 2 platinum i/o extension. I also have a multimedia keyboard without any drivers installed (and without the mentioned problem).

the same problem too
I have the same problem too. I'm using SB0092 with kX 3538j on WinXP SP2.
When I watch some movies, listen to music, make some things in photoshop it's fine, but when I'm launching a game and then I use some MM buttons like vol. up/down, mute it causes a BSoD. I have the 'multimedia keyboard' option off and it works anyway.. The thing is when I launch a game and then switch to desktop, run the kX mixer and press the main volume controler it's the same - a BSoD with the same number etc. IMHO it's something about the volume control not the MM Keyboard. |

Just to update/bump...
This problem did not go away with kx3538i and I just updated to kx3538j and within 20 minutes I was looking at a blue screen. TS |

hi,
I also experienced the same issue with 3538h, not often, but always in extreme memory usage condition : - I load a big project in cubase using nearly all physical ram available (shown in the task manager). - the volume control always works immediately after loading - I work on the project (playback, record...) - after a while the Bsod volume bug *May* occur ( "Kx.sys,The driver has mistakenly marked a part of its image pageable instead of non pageable"), but not always. It never happened when the system is not using nearly all physical available memory (since I always have a window paging file, there is still (fake) memory available) It happened whether I had 1Gb or 2Gb memory It happened whether multimedia keyboard is on or off Hope it helps
