Random soundcard failure

This happened few times with 3537 and 3538h BETA.
SB Live! 5.1 is working great and all the sudden without any special pattern it just stops playing or all played sounds are replaced with high pitch noise (like whistle, but even higher). Then i used old Creative drivers (24 july 2002) and this never happened again for almost a month (and still counting).
I have also formatted hard drive 3 times and Kx produced the same high pitched sound from time to time.
Only way to fix this is to restart PC and everything is fine again.

My hardware:
Gigabyte 7N400E-L motherboard (onboard ACL655 chip disabled in BIOS)

Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Player (model no. SB0060) connected to analog Cambridge SoundWorks 4.1 speakers.

Other peripherals are not important i belive.

I've been having this problem as well. Seems to only happen after a few days for me. And i've never noticed it happen while I'm using the computer, just when I sit back down to use it.

Shutting down the mixer, disabling and re-enabling the soundcard and restarting the mixer doesn't seem to help.

I was going to say this didn't used to happen until the last few months, but I do dual boot, so maybe I just never noticed it before.

I was also wondering if it maybe had something to do with Cool n Quiet, because it was the only thing I had installed that I thought might cause it when the computer wasn't in use. But for the above motherboard, that doesn't look to be the case.

Asus K8V Deluxe
Soundblaster Live 5.1 OEM (CT4832)

Hm,i'm using Athlon XP (Tbred) 2400+ at 2700+ (200MHz FSB) 1,85V and NGO S2K Bus Disconnect v2.1 to cool it down in idle time.
But i don't think it's related because i don't get this weird failures with official SB Live! drivers on same hardware setup (including software part ->NGO S2K Bus thing).
Anyway,i'd like to solve this as fast as possible,so i can return back to Kx.

System Specs

this is a known bug, i think Eugene has actually posted a thread in this forum

its a few pages long at 100posts per page so it's a common issue with no real known cause
