I Can't hear MIDI with SB0100!!!
Problem, I can't hear MIDI, unless I use the Microsoft SW synth!!! Why is that?
Update: Cause: kxProject Sound Blaster drivers don't come with any SoundFont files. Last edited by RJARRRPCGP; Jul 10, 2005 at 07:02 AM. |

Ill assume the SB0100 has hardware synthesis capability.
To answer your actual question - its because you're not understanding the KX Driver - join the club ![]() But to fix the proble. You need to load a sound font (a General Midi or GM compliant) into bank 0 and answer yes to allow both synths to use that soundfont. - sound fonts, by default, are NOT loaded. Make sure to save settings after so it gets loaded in at bootup. Or not. To get a GM sound font - look in the KX driver main site links area - there are plenty good ones for free, but they were NOT packaged with the driver. |

I thank people here for including adequate documentation for fixing the new issues with my new (actually given to me, thus used, probably at least as old as 2002) SoundBlaster Live.
Even not being the latest SoundBlaster model, seems promising, because of the Emu 10K1 APU.
