Where can I get the 3538h driver?

Hi guys! I was just wondering where I can get the 3538h driver. I have the 3538i version and I am experiencing the no drums on midi 10 issue. I cannot find a link anywhere. I think the KX project is really cool BTW... alot of stuff the Creative folks didnt think to give us musicians. Thanx in advance.

You can download 3538h here. Remember that 3538h needs to be installed on top of 3538g, which needs 3538c. (3538c -> 3538g -> 3538h)

Yeah, I went ack to 3538h also. Gonna use 3538h til the MIDI drum issue and other bugs are fixed and until LeMury makes his ProFX and MX6 plugins available for the newer 3538 betas.

Well I downloaded 3538c,3538g and 3538h and installed them in order. 3538h was merely file replacements for 4 files in 3538g. Everything seemed okay until I went to the master control and did a speaker test... nothing...no sound. I'm at a loss. 3537 does not work for SB0400. 3538i worked for everything but midi playback on ch 10. I really want this to work. HELP !

Did you completely uninstall 3538i before installing the previous version?

When you installed 3538h, did you quit kxmixer, copy *.sys to system32/drivers, *.exe and *.dll to /system32, and then reboot?

I am sure you have probably allready done this, but verify that the volumes are not muted, etc (Master Volume, and the individual volumes for Front/Rear, etc).

You might also try a Reset Global and Device Settings.

Other than the above, I can only guess that something went wrong with the installation...

well I had to go back to stupid ol' Creative drivers

Well I ended up starting over . I completely uninstalled 3538h and started with 3538c. Used Driver cleaner to purge everything and loaded 3538c. Same thing...no sound. Added 3538g patch... same thing no sound. I finally uninstalled and went back to stupid ol' Creative drivers... it works just fine. Very frustrated... disappointed... because KX drivers and setup are SOOOOOOOO much cooler. But what can I do... it just didnt work. I guess I'll wait to see if there is an update to 3638i that solves the no drums on midi ch 10 issue. Then I will ditch the creative drivers with relish! http://www.hardwareheaven.com/images/s...big%20grin.gif

I do not know much about the sb0400, but from reading some other posts, it seems that there are some specific steps that you must take to get it to work with 3538h (and probably previous versions, if it even works at all with them). Sorry I did not see that post earlier, but take a look, and see if it helps:

On my sb0400 i had to reconnect some outputs on the epilog. It seems like 'Analog Front' and 'Generic SPDIF' are exchanged (labeled wrong).
Hope that helps (using 3538i)

Edit: aaahh sorry, I didin't echange the outputs (makes no sense) I just enabled sound for the SPDIF in the Prolog.

Kx 3538i synchronization with Windows sound controls are wrong.
I have set Surrounder+ to 4.0 Movie Mode but under Windows Sound controls i see 5.1 selected as speakers setup. This is way wrong,it should be Quadrophonic instead of 5.1.

completely ignore the windows sound settings - keep it at 5.1, and use the surrounder instead. The surrounder does not communicate with the windows sounds control panel - but you need to keep as many outputs as possible open in it to make sure kX takes full advantage of your card

I don't know, are you sure? I mean does Kx really completely bypass the Win Sound subsystem regarding speakers setup (number)?

exclamation Temporary fix for 3538i ...

Hello all!

Well I use for some time kx drivers, but the last driver 3538i, has a problem in kx.sys, and instead of sound, also like other users who tested It, I get a white noise. A temporary solution to this is, by coping kx.sys , from 3538h, to the folder where it installs, the instalation kit, and install the driver , and now is working perfectly. The ASIO driver works very well, with latenecy set to 2,18 .
Hope will work to U also.
My soundcards are SB0240 10k2, and CT4832 10k1, on an overclocked Barton 2600+ to 2300Mhz.
Bye, for now.

Hi,

I have a problem with the kxmixer. When I install KX3538i with no reboot, I have sound but when I manually or with a reboot start kxmixer there is no sound anymore. I have tested it with Winamp running with a mp3.
I have saw that the peak function shows that there is a signal, but I hear nothing.

This is reproduceable. Only when I reinstall the driver.
My last driver I have used is 3537 and this one works with little problems with left and right. So the older versions of 3538 is not tested.

I don't no how to fix this.

My configuration:

I aint come across a problem, but i only use the card for audio playback, but with Windows MCE 2005, i find the following problem
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...895#post726895
Quickie of the link -> Streaming LiveTV is the only audio lost (but recordings from LiveTv are fine :s), everything else is fine. This only happens when the pc hibernates (after removing the KX tray icon)
using SB0092 10k2 (b400)
If you need more info, mail me at manvadher@Hotmail.com

Regarding the no midi drums issue, I noticed that there is a new hardware parameter "KX_HW_DRUM_CHANNEL", but it always reads zero. When you try and change its value, kX console reports that it set it to the new value, but when you read back the value it reports that it is still zero.

i.e.
#define KX_HW_DRUM_CHANNEL 21

>ghw 21
HW Parameter 21 is: 0
>shw 21 0xA
HW Parameter 21 set to: a
>ghw 21
HW Parameter 21 is: 0

Hi all; Audigy 2 ZS, detected as SB0390. Epilog contains an error: "analog front" connectors are actually the rear S/PDIF ones. In order to get digital rear, one has to turn on Analog Front output in the mixer, and rewire the epilog as explained. This is a very strange bug and it took me an hour to track down. I hope someone will take a look into this for the next version. Thanks.

For starters, it would be helpful to know which model soundcard you have (i.e. SB0xxx), and what type of speaker setup you are using (i.e. a digital receiver?, etc).

Don't know what's wrong, but after installing 3538i , upon loading Cubase SX3, it says 'ASIO Multimedia Driver coudl not be loader' and basically ASIO seems to be disabled or something..could'nt find a way to fix it, so i went back to 3537, which works flawlessly.

after each fresh install of kX, make srue that hardware acceleration is set to full, as that will cause problems with ASIO

Has a fix for the ProFX - AC97 skin bug been released?

I searched the forums and get a TON of results but none in a 'release' thread..

the pro-fx plugins bundled with 3538i were older, unfinished versions that were added by mistake, and iirc, not completely functional
