"SB22x hack enabled" (in 3538i settings -> driver compabillity)

I'v got sb220 (sound blaster live digital),
with rear channels that are not working by default,

from kXdrv3538g using REAR CHANNELS as ASIO output channels 13 & 14
(... thus I don't waste my time to tweak it ...)

NOW I HAVE 3538i (latest?

) drivers under my WinXP, ànd 3538g (must be) under W98Se ...

This new drivers have new feature in "settings -> driver compabillity" checkbox called "SB22x hack enabled".
So I checked it BUT NOTHING HAPPENED under my winXP. I rebooted, reseted global & device settings,
THERE WERE NO SOUND FROM MY REARs, even more, I'v LOST my ASIO output channels 13 & 14 !!!

... Silence

... reboot in W98se with 3538g shocked me - I'v lost my rears there too!
after reseting everything I can

and unplugging my pc, my rears came back, but only for pre-3538i drivers!

Q: What is "SB22x Hack" for?! (is it suitable for all sb22x models?)

Q: please tell me right instructions to enable may sb220 rear channels (on pre-3538i too

I FOUND HOW IT WORKS !
but in this mode [color=orange]KXMIXER & KX DSP has some real bad glitches![/color]

At first, IT NEEDS to [color=red] RESET DEVICE SETTINGS[/color]
* this must be done [color=red]if the sound is dissapeared[/color] AT ALL, when you done something ... wrong ... maybe ...

Second thing, is to [color=red] SETUP YOUR MIXER, LEVELS etc.,
but above all: HeadPhones & Front\Rear Swap chekboxes,[/color]
then you [color=red]MUST SAVE IT (c:\kxdefault.kx)[/color] .
.. if you Dont want to waste your time restoring ALL mixer settings by hands IN CASE OF ....

Third, maybe one of the regular things, you should do from now is go to:
[color=red]KX settings > Driver Compatibility ... >
there you need to check "Sb22x Hack Enabled" checkbox[/color]
... nothing happened? thats not all!
[color=red]NOW YOU CAN'T TOUCH "Front\Rear SWAP" checkbox, DAO checkbox, LFE\C HeadPhones checkbox and much more in KXmixer\KX DSP !!! [/color]
Oops ... you did that - GO RESET DEVICE SETTINGS !!! (or enjoy the silence! )

LAST REGULAR THING TO DO,
is to [color=red]RESET AC97 STATUS[/color] (and check its inputs after reset) ...
... and thats all! realy ?!

[color=green]Q: how to automate this steps, because this must be done after every reboot ...
PS: must be said how I have found this feature working ... [/color]

the hack enable/disable button is not applicable for every configuration
in 3538j it will be more flexible

no other solutions exist so far
