Quake 4 and KX Drivers

Problem!!!

I have been using KX drivers with my Audigy 2 for ages and had no problems running any app or game until today when I tried running Quake 4. It crashed to desktop on starting. I found a post on a forum stating that I need to use openAL drivers with my card and this game so I uninstalled KX and installed the latest (beta) openAL drivers from the creating site and Quake 4 now runs fine, however... this means no Cubase <<crys quietly>>

I'm waiting for an answer re this problem from Activision and will post anything useful here.

i have no problems playing quake 4 with kx drivers using sb live.

Runs fine with latest beta and Audigy 2 here.
