Version: 5, 10, 00, 3538 - debug
Kompiliert: Jul 14 2005 17:05:13 ------------------- Hi there, i use Dvb-S and sometimes (most times...) if i change a channel.. or play a videofile and jump forward or back or open another ... everytime the sounds have do start now i get sometimes no sound but only containious beep ....... from the speakers... The only think i can do is to Restart my Windows, then the Sound is back. Using a SoundBlaster Audigy1 with WindowsXP SP2. With Linux there are no Sound Problems. So its a Problem with the drivers. I was first thinkig its because of my SkyStar2 DVB-S Card.. but the same problem is if i dont c TV and just play Video Files... i open.. i open.. and anywhere anytime i open a other file.. peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........... ..... Restart... TERRIBLE! What can i do? Neustart... SCHRECKLICH! Was kann ich tun? Last edited by RyoBerlin; Feb 5, 2006 at 06:04 PM. |

Is the DVB card sanding audio via a LINE INPUT on your sound card - or is it JUST a PCI card with an antenna input?
If so - try changing the TV software and Media player (maybe is using windows defualt as set in the SOUND and AUDIO DEVICES applet in the windows control panel) For instance - if its using DirectSound - Try WAVE output - or vise-versa. |

Hmm - did you try changing the windows default audio device?.
edit: Hmmm.... This isn't making sense - unless its a bug with your card model. - in which case - you should post the info found in the KX help/about screen. Another thing to look at is you mobos PCI latency. Set it as low as possible Which makes me wonder what your system specs are (Proccessor/mobo/ramvideo card) |

Also - have a look in the device manager to see if what devices are sharing the same interupt.
Just to be clear: You have no problems until after running TV card? - is this correct? And - your getting exact same behaviour no matter what version of KX you try? |

if you encounter such a problem, close all audio applications, open kx console, type 'rv' (reset voices)
then playback any midi file -- watch your 'voice analyzer' window to be 100% sure all the voices were allocated this should fix the problem in 99% cases if this fails, unload kxmixer, go to device manager, disable your audio card, re-enable it, then execute 'kxmixer --startup' nature of this issue is unknown, no fix is planned E. |

"No fix" is just too bad.
I'm experiencing this issue with 3537 and with 3538 too (and it surely was earlier). H/w config: Quote:
I found one temporary remedy - I begin starting/stopping playback a lot of times and eventually it gets fixed. But this takes up to 40-60 seconds and it can appear again at any time (even immediately after 'fixing'). I will check if the voice reset helps here. What can I further check to help you resolve this issue? Have plenty of exp. in 80x86 ASM, some exp. in SoftICE etc. but've almost forgot all Windows internals by now... The issue is serious for me, I'm thinking to go to the shitty integrated ALC650 'cause kX is buggy for me and Creative drivers can't give me 5.1... BTW. Thanks for the driver A LOT. They saved me from ALC, even if they are buggy. |
