Alpha Hardware

What do you mean by alpha systems? Are you talking about alpha hardware that was never released to the public? I have some. I have a rev3700 voodoo 5 6000, but I'm not letting it go for less than 1000$.

Do you have some benchies of that Voodoo5 6K? I've never seen any good one on newer systems.

It can get like 5500 in 3dmark01. It does much better in real game performance, it can do 1024x768 with 4xAA in RTCW at about 50FPS. It can do 1600x1200 with 2xAA in Q3A and get about 50FPS. The card runs best on 24bit color, so thats what the numbers were taken at. At 32bit the performance is killed and only a very slight performance gain is acheived by going to 16bit.

Its more about the rarity than the performance though. Only when the GF2ultra was new was the card about performance. It was a little more than double what the GF2ultra could do, but it was out at the same time. The GF3 still beats it though.

Yea, jeez, I wish 3DFX was still around, if only they had put TNL in the Voodoo4/5, they would be pretty good then. Oh and 32 bit color in the voodoo3 and bigger textures would have been nice.

No I mean alpha hardware as in Alpha Technology (you know Digital -> Compaq -> Hp) that kind of stuff 64 bit unix machines.
