WTB: 4 GB ram

i'm looking to buy 4 GB of ram to add to my system. I already have 4GB (2x 2GB) of blue Corsair dominator 1600.

So If anyone is upgrading to faster or larger Dimms and has some of the same identical ram there getting rid of, i'd be interested in buying it off you to bring mine up to 8 GB. thanks

this is what i've got: (and what i need)

Re: WTB: 4 GB ram

Oh, so close. I'm selling off a triple-channel CAS-8 version of that RAM.
Alternatively, I'd recommend Some of these to you. Whether you want to buy it is entirely up to you but at least this way you've got a comparison of price. Pound-for-pound it's currently the best offer that I can find.
Because Corsair Dominator RAM isn't really sold any more (companies are selling Vengeance now instead) the price of Dominator hasn't gone down as much as it should have; it's still comparatively expensive.

do the ram timings have to be identical? would yours work with mine but simply at CAS9?

Also, is the VENGEANCE RAM better than the dominator?

Re: WTB: 4 GB ram

it's ill-advised to mix/match ram. you could very well end up with memory errors.

As long as you have identical channels (e.g. 1GB+2GB in two channels, total 6GB) and you run at the lowest-common-denominator speeds and latencies, it should really be no issue.

for the most part that used to be true..

not so much provided as stated above.. you run it all in the correct channels, and you run it at nothing highest speed obtainable by the lowest performance memory....
