I'm not sure, but for 200 cad, a 5600 or 9600np sounds not too bad.

Yes... the 5600 sux, get a 9600 np, the core on that thing can overclock 400MHz+ (default:325MHz).

lol yes it is..i got ffxi and its not goin at full speed and thats annoying cuz then its hard defeating the monster an all..so thats why and also to prepare for new games ahead. I was thinking about trying to get 9500 that can overclock to a 9700np maybe that would cost less but o well ^^

The 9600 np is better then the 9500 np, by quite a bit, unless you get one that can mod which would make the 9500 much better, but if you wanna be safe get the 9600 np.

sucs i have personaly tried a 256 version and wern't impressed.as for the overclock on the 9600np is fine but go for a 9600pro which it's default clock is 400/600 so with the right cooling etc would work out to be cheaper in the long run due to the small difference inprice from np to pro versions. you would get closer to atleast 450/330 which i have set but perhaps go a little further but don't want to push it. to beat everything i think ati's drivers are better as well. |

even an old 8500 radeon is a good deal if you can find one...responds well to omega drivers, I have one and I love it...I soldier on because I don't have a disposible income either...so have a little faith. keep looking, but you can sure get a decent newer radeon at www.newegg.com right?.....patience patience...lol

You couldn't go wrong on a MSI Geforce4 TI4200 8XAGP 128MB w/ VIVO $135, my friend popped that beauty in his ABIT NF7-S 2.0/Barton 2500+ all at stock speeds (he also has some CHEAP ASS Kingston ram), and he scored 11885.
11,885 - ffs, I score 12,000 with my (ATI 9500 PRO, ABIT NF7-S, XP1700 @ 1.9GHz, Corsair XMS RAM). That is a SWEET fxing card, and it overclocks like a mutha!!!!! GET this card, NOW.

dude...im in CANADA!!
and Canada's economy is no where near America's...those stupid 20 cents make a HUGE difference..im sorry if i wasted ur time but..i do feel better now..i have 255 Cad now which is 180 U.s...the Ti4200 that your talking about costs 200 CAD dollars here..atleast where ive looked. Which is about 150 u.s. :S i cant spend all of that 180 u.s. dollars..my dad would call it a waste so im gonna have to wait for a while, and will the ti4200 last for like an year nicely? cuz im sick and tired of buying cards that only last me 2 - 3 months and after that games go slow as hell! my ffxi AT LOWEST SETTING POSSIBLE still lags, its just too much and let me tell ya it goes REALLY LOW it sinks to the level of psx and still it lags...btw i got a gf 4 mx440 LOL thats why i want deals from america! ive seen deals like 200 u.s. for Ati Radeon 9700 so..i was thinking if its possible for the geforce as well? o and what if i got a 5600 ultra?

The GF4MX is slower than the GF2, thats why your card didn't last you. You should get a r9500pro if you want a card that will last you for a while.
The 5600 ultra is a GF4ti with DX9 support, nothing special about it. |

I would take a ti4200 over a 9600pro just because its alot cheaper.
Oh yeah, it costs them about 25$ to manufacture a GF4, I know this as a fact. I know a guy with good connections. |
