Re: Looking to Buy high quality PSU 450W+
Why don't you just buy one at a store?
www.newegg.com has Foltron 400-533w PSU's. The Foltron 400 and 500 watt series are excellent quality for a great price. I suggest you pick up the 533w for only 60 bucks, I myself am ditching my Antec True550 and getting one of those, mainly since it already has pots on the rails allowing easy tuning.

sorry I only buy mainstream poswersupplys and mod them for better quailty....
(at the chip level most are just fine you just have to understand the watt rationg system, a psu rated at 400w means it can hande 400w for a short time only then deth, most 400 can handle mabe 300-350 under constant load, partally comes down to quailty of parts but the biggest effectiong factor is cooling thats wer i come in) i've only got mooded elcheapos in 350-400w ranges right now. they do work great i've never paid more then $30 for a PSU, i wste moy mony on other more important things like a beter cpu, ram, mobo, etc...

Enermax overrates their PSUs, their 550 watt PSU has terrible rails that fulxuate terribly on my system.
I finally fixed my fluke multimeter, and I took measurements. The enermax PSU would go from 11.80 to 12.03 on the 12V rail, and the 5V rail would only reach 4.98 at its peak, and fall as low as 4.70. On my PC power and cooling all of the rails stay at EXACTLY 12.14. (The rails are raised slightly to compensate for the voltage loss that occors from the connector) |

Go to newegg and take a look at the Coolmax PSU's. I've been using them on the Athlon 64 systems I've built and they run great. I've been getting the 450 Watt one with the 2 Ball Bearing fans and Tri-Led Fan light (or some such thing).

I have a Antec TruePower 550w I was lookin to get rid off if you'd like. It works fine, although I did have to replace the fans in it not long ago due to them drying out. I was lookin for about $45(shipped) if interested.

I had some cold start problems with the Antec and my rails were not exactly solid during heavy use. I got the enermax recommended to me by a few people so I gave it a go(this being my first Enermax PSU) It was a wise choice to say the least; no more cold start probs, solid rails, and it turns out to be a 460w although Enermax rates it at 431w. Also rail voltages are much higher on the Enermax. Pretty weird since its rated over 100w less

TTGI, very effective. 3 fans. Very incredibly strong rails. If you rip it open there's an adjustable potentiometer for the 5v and 12v to give you more voltage if needed.
