Gold/Silver 1pence and 2pence pieces
Hey guys, a few little novelty items up for grabs here.
I have plated 1 pence and 2 pence pieces to make a gold/silver appearance. I apologise for the low-qual pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These are well-plated and lackered so they will not tarnish for a long time. I have many of each. Heh! The gold 1ps are going for £8 each on ebay! I just thought I would bring your attention to them and let them go for less over here - I think £5 including shipping to anywhere in UK is reasonable. If anyone is interested, I will ship anywhere else, only at extra cost.Obviously, these are just to look nice, you cannot use them as legal tender. If anyone is interested, I will let you know the process (what is involved - how to do it), IF you buy one - I'm cheeky like that

I know how to do it as I have a (small) bucket-full that I made at school.
Are they plated with real gold though? A lot of mine aren't plated with gold( I can't remember what we used as I was usually stoned during GCSE Physics) but some are. I agree they do look really sweet when finished (don't keep them in your pockets though). Makes pound coins look amazingling clean. Definatley something though. |

Yeah... they look great... the gold ones look as though they are plated in gold... however they are not. As I said, I will let people in on the process if they buy one
- as for the silver one, they are made using the exact same chemicals and most of the same process... just missing out the final step. I tried making some black ones too... but they tarnished pretty quickly.
