Yeah I agree- every time I see a review for a 9600pro for 200 dollars and they say it's a good deal, I think man, buy a used BBATI 9700pro- (most are still under warranty for a while)

You can get r9800pro 128M cards for 230$ at newegg. They have MUCH better cores that are easily worth the extra 30$.

Wow, that's an awesome deal! I might have to sell my 9700p on ebay and go for the 9800p, you didn't mean non-pro did you? If not, I cannot understand how they think they can get 200 for a 9600XT- it's only 4 pipes, no matter how fast it goes.

Wow, that is an amazing deal- It's not a Powercolor either!... Damn, I wish I had 229 bucks laying around here- almost too got to pass up. I need a new PSU before I spend more on a video card though.

After my shim removal my core goes to 371, 378 w/ a few artifacts, (with stock lapped heatsink w/ a 60x25mm fan attacked and Ceramique) but my mem only is really usable at about 330- I don't run it at anything above 320 most of the time, but before the shim removal the ram went 345 to 351-

I'm probbaly lucky my card still works at all- I have no idea what I did wrong, but I must have done something if the ram doesn't clock as high after the surgery. I still love my 9700p though- it is a great card.
