Hard to say who will take the cup, there are a lot of strong teams there.

We stayed a bit longer in the office to watch the draw. We (Serbia) did okay, considering that we were in the fourth pot. We were the highest rated team in it, so that was in itself a bit unfortunate, but with that in mind, our group, E, is okay: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia.

I think that we have a genuine shot at getting to the second place. Switzerland and Costa Rica are both playable and, while they are a huge favourite, out of the major teams, we've probably had the most success against Brazil (whereas, on the other hand, Argentina and Netherlands always gave us a proper thrashing).

If we do progress into the knockout stage, we'll almost certainly be playing Germany and our chances will be slim.

For myself I am pleased that England has drawn Belgium in the final match. I think that the performances over the qualifying rounds were amateur at the best. It's been that way for many years.

We do have some good individuals but as a team they don't show up.

England to win the World Cup, no chance in my life time.

Well, the first team I usually support other than Greece who didn't make it this time, is Italy. But Italy also didn't make it, for the first time in what...60 years or something. USA also didn't make it...So I guess I am going to support Argentina and Japan.

As for England, I really have no reason to believe they will do anything good this time around. For some time now they are just...losers. Which is a shame as they don't carry the love and support of their people and show almost nothing of their talent. Perhaps they should just fill the national team with players from the lower leagues who have more passion for the game.

It's going to be a difficult cup.

I think I'm gonna support Japan and since my big sister is there and is practically a German now anyway, Germany.

I had to think on it for a time.

Gawd, it's time for this again? Didn't this thing just happen?

It'll be nice to be out when this is on though, no crowds like it usually is :p

Now as Englands WC team has been announced, I'm even less confident than before.. o_O

At least half of the team I have not seen or know who they play for.

That's a good thing. Perhaps they will actually try to win for a change. I would love to see a very good team for once in the 21st century.

Go to the Adidas online store. They have got t shirts that are in a wide selection of sizes for the world cup and the teams in it.

Well the first game were a win for Russia 5-0 Saudi Arabia.

The opening ceremony were too short and boring. .

Better short and boring than one that would be long and boring. :D

We'll see how well they'll do against stronger opposition, but some of the stuff that the Russian team showed was pleasing to the eye. :)

I'm getting slightly pumped about Sunday afternoon and Serbia - Costa Rica.

Egypt 0 - 1 Uraguay to a very late goal, I missed this due to work :(

Iran 1-0 Morocco (Also very late), this makes iran's first win in a WC since1998... And it were a stalemate match imo.

Portugal v spain could be a cracker, certainly one to watch.

Yes actually as I was typing that message I heard that they had a goal (Iran), feel sorry for Morocco, an own goal is always downright painful.

as with all WC & European tournaments, Winning the first game is so important. It takes a little pressure off the second match.

but for Morocco now have to get past Spain & Portugal. I don't see that happening.

Its becoming an entertaining first half :)

Now 2 - 1 to Portugal (Ronaldo) with a De Gea made a right slip up.
